Spot Details

Eagle Lake is a 40 minute drive east of Calgary along

Highway 1. It offers full facility camping, day sailing and a sandy

beach. If you've gone to Chestermere and the conditions don't look

very promising, try here. Eagle is subject to different wind conditions

because of the unique geography of the surrounding area.

S winds are often gusty, W winds are onshore ...

this place can go OFF in strong Northerly conditions with a short

steep, breaking swell! The swells have very, very, very smooth

water between them so it is a kiters paradise as well. Shallow

... nice kite launch. Check it out in the spring and early summer!

The water occasionally becomes uncomfortably infested

with algae by August. Yuk! Source: Windsurfingalberta.com

Campground charges pricey day use fee.
