Spot Details
Largest alpine meadow in the Rockies, at 14 km². Winds can be gusty but generally from the SW. Must buy a backcountry pass from base area ticket agent, or skin up the 6km access road/ski out to the village. Then take the angel express chair (no lift ticket required once in the village), stay skiers left, and duck under the boundary rope. This meadow is snow covered for 9 months of the year!
