Ask local riders about local conditions, obstacles, riding restrictions & access issues, when you are riding at a new spot.

[*]Conversely, introduce yourself to people you don't know at your local spots. Make sure they are aware of local conditions, obstacles & riding restrictions.

[*]Get help launching & landing. Just ask. Self-launching and landing is for experts, and can go horribly wrong.

[*]You may be asked to stop flying your kite by local riders, or launch elsewhere.

[*]Don't learn to fly a large kite (inflatable or foil) on the beach. Launch your kite, and immediately head on to the water.

[*]Avoid flying and riding in marked swimming areas. Not only will you likely be ticketed or fined, riding in marked swimming areas jeopardizes access for everyone

[*]Stay away from crowded beaches that are full of non-kiters. This is especially true during "beach season". Come back in the spring or fall, when it's less crowded-
