A narrow spit of land separates Ninigret Pond from the ocean. Thus, you get the strength and consistency of ocean winds in a "lake setting," making Ninigret a very popular sailing spot. Parking is limited, with parking for only 50 cars or so including beach goers.

Flat water, ocean winds -- a great combination

Limited parking: $8 weekdays, $10 weekends, half price for residents

From South: Route 95 to exit 92 in CT, RT 2 South to RT 78 South, RT 78 to RT 1 North, RT 1 North to East Beach Road, East Beach Road to end.

From North: Rout 95 to Exit 8 in RI, RT 4 south to RT 1 South, RT 1 South to East beach road, East Beach Road to end.
