Hamptons, Long Island: Wide sandy beaches, cape hatteras style. Best on the normal south west winds during summer. When iwindsurf shows the green, go! Plenty of space, no rules. The only hard part is deciding how to park legally on the beach you decide on, and getting the correct directions to your kiting friends. There are many spots with some sand bars close to shore with makes for some fun kickers to jump off. Good spots would be West Hampton Beach, Ponoqugue, South Hampton Town beaches, and East Hampton also. All beaches have soft sand, and few rocky areas. Waves always increase the fun factor.

Best Wind direction: Any south related wind. East and West works also, but is extremely rare. On Southwest wind, you could do a downwinder for 30 miles easy, depending on if you could find a sucker friend to drive.

Direction: The entire east end of Long Island.

Rules and regulations: Few rules so far regarding kiting. Only state park land has a outstanding ban on all kiting activity, since it is not an "approved activity".
